FIFA president Sepp Blatter sprayed with fake dollar bills during press conference

Disgraced FIFA president Sepp Blatter was sensationally sprayed with fake dollar notes by British comedian Simon Brodkin who gatecrashed his press conference in Zurich this afternoon.
Simon, who also goes by the name, Jason Bent & Lee Nelson, who is a well known prankster, walked up to Blatter's position behind a table at the front of the stage and placed a sum of money on the table and said: ‘This is for North Korea 2026’, before throwing the money into the air, which rained down on Blatter. Simon was later taken away by Swiss police. See the photos after the cut...

Kano Pillar FC coach, Okey Emordi sacked

The Head coach of Kano Pillar football club has been sacked by the club's management. A statement made available by the club's spokesman Idris Malikawa today, says the newly constituted Pillars Football board headed by Kabiru Baita approved Emordi’s dismissal.

Mr Emordi was dropped following what the club described as a "string of poor results" under him. Only recently, he led his team mates to a 3-3 draw against Lobi Stars in Makurdi. Pillars are ninth on the table with 27 points, nine points behind leaders Sunshine Stars and Enyimba.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has terminated the appointment of the Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.
The NFF explained that Keshi failed to meet the “required commitment stated in the contract to achieve the Federation’s objectives as set out in the coach’s employment contract.
“Having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Disciplinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee, as well as having reviewed the actions and inactions of Mr. Stephen Keshi, in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles’ head coach, which we found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation’s objectives as set out in the coach’s employment contract.

Not again! NFF sacks Stephen Keshi

The Nigerian Football Federation has sacked Stephen Keshi as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The termination of his appointment is contained in a statement released by NFF Executive Committee today Saturday July 4th. The statement in part reads;

Uruguay furious as Chile advance in Copa America battle


Santiago (AFP) - Chile sent nine-man Uruguay crashing out of the Copa America, winning a bruising quarter-final 1-0 as controversy over lurid provocation tactics rocked the tournament.
An 81st-minute strike from Juventus defender Mauricio Isla on Wednesday settled a pulsating encounter at Santiago's Estadio Nacional as holders Uruguay saw striker Edinson Cavani and defender Jorge Fucile sent off.
