Congratulations to Drake! The Canadian made Billboard history with
the most #1s on their R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. This week he
surpassed the previous record set by Usher for the most #1 records on
Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts since its inception 22 years
ago. This happened after Lil Wayne’s new single ”Believe Me“ featuring his YMCMB labelmate Drake took over top of the chart. This is Drizzy’s 14th #1 cut. Says a statement by Billboard:
Lil Wayne and Drake rewrite R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay
history, as “Believe Me” rises 2-1. With the ascent, featured artist
Drake scores his 14th No. 1, passing Usher (13) for the most leaders in
the chart’s 22-year history. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne becomes just the third
act, following Drake and Usher, to reach a double-digit No. 1 sum, as
“Believe” becomes his 10th topper. The track also reaches the top of Rap
Airplay.
